How to read online so the answer is accurate
An online spread works just like a reading with a physical deck: cards are drawn at random from the full 78-card deck, with no repeats, and each one can come up upright or reversed. The only difference is that the deck is shuffled by a random number generator instead of a hand.
The most important thing is the question. Phrase it in advance, think it over calmly, and only then lay out the cards. Don’t ask the same question many times in a row: the first spread is usually the most accurate. Learn more in the articles “How to ask tarot questions” and “How to lay out tarot cards correctly”.
The interpretations are based on the author’s deck and the classic Rider–Waite tradition. The full meaning of each card is a click away in your spread results.
Start with a single card
If you’re just getting to know tarot, draw a card of the day — it’s the easiest way to learn the meanings.
Questions about online spreads
Are online tarot readings real?
An online spread works the same way as one with a physical deck: the cards come up at random, and the meaning of the answer depends on your question and how you interpret it. Tarot is a tool for reflection that helps you see a situation from the outside, not an exact prediction.
How is an online spread different from a reading with a tarot reader?
A tarot reader links the cards together, takes the context into account and asks follow-up questions. An online spread gives you an interpretation of each position and the overall picture, but tying it all into one story is up to you — the descriptions on the spread pages help with that.
How many times can you do a spread for the same question?
Once. If the answer is unclear, it’s better to reread the card meanings and think it over than to lay out the cards again. Repeat the spread when the situation has changed.
Do I need to sign up?
No. All spreads are free, with no sign-up, and your question isn’t sent anywhere.
Which tarot spread is the most accurate?
The most accurate one is the one that fits your question. For short questions, use Yes or No Tarot or the Three-card spread; for relationships, the Relationship spread; for complicated situations, the Celtic Cross.
