How the age scale works
The eight outer points of the matrix stand for ages: the left point (day of birth) is age 0, the upper left corner is 10, the top point is 20, the upper right corner is 30, the right point is 40, the lower right corner is 50, the bottom point is 60, the lower left corner is 70, and at 80 the circle closes.
Each decade is divided into seven more points: the midpoint (age 5) is the sum of the neighboring corners, then ages 2.5 and 7.5 are the sums of the midpoint with the edges, plus intermediate points between them. In total there are 64 points on the circle. Numbers greater than 22 are reduced by adding their digits, as everywhere else in the matrix.
Calculation example
Date December 25, 1989: day 25 → 7, month 12, year 1 + 9 + 8 + 9 = 27 → 9, bottom point 7 + 12 + 9 = 28 → 10. The anchor points of the scale:

- Age 10 (day + month): 19
- Age 20 (month): 12
- Age 30 (month + year): 21
- Age 40 (year): 9
- Age 50 (year + bottom point): 19
- Age 60 (bottom point): 10
- Age 70 (day + bottom point): 17

Matrix by year vs. tarot year card: what’s the difference
There are two popular ways to find your arcana for the year. In the destiny matrix, the arcana depends on your age and changes on your birthday. In tarot numerology, the personal year card is calculated as your birth day + birth month + the digits of the calendar year, and it runs from January 1. The methods don’t contradict each other: the first describes a stage of life, the second the background of the calendar year.
