Destiny matrix by date of birth

The destiny matrix is a chart built from the numbers of your date of birth, where each number corresponds to one of the 22 Major Arcana of the tarot. Enter your date of birth and the calculator will build your matrix and interpret its key points: personal traits, comfort zone, talents, money, relationships, karmic tail and purpose.

What the destiny matrix is

The destiny matrix is a modern method at the crossroads of numerology and tarot, popularized by Natalia Ladini. Numbers from 1 to 22 are calculated from your date of birth; each of them is a Major Arcana card, and their placement on an octagon-shaped chart shows which energies come through in different areas of life: character, talents, money, relationships, ancestral tasks and purpose.

The matrix doesn’t predict events. It’s a tool for self-knowledge: it suggests which qualities are strong in a person, where they show up “in the plus” and where “in the minus,” and what is worth working on.

How to calculate the destiny matrix

All numbers in the matrix are reduced to the range from 1 to 22: if a sum is greater than 22, its digits are added together (for example, 25 → 2 + 5 = 7). Example: the date July 15, 1990.

  • Left point (A): the day of birth, 15.
  • Top point (B): the month, 7.
  • Right point (C): the sum of the digits of the year, 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19.
  • Bottom point (D): the sum of the three, 15 + 7 + 19 = 41 → 4 + 1 = 5.
  • Center (E): the sum of the four, 15 + 7 + 19 + 5 = 46 → 4 + 6 = 10.

Next come the points of the ancestral square (sums of neighboring corners), the sky line (top + bottom) and the earth line (left + right points), and the karmic tail (center + bottom, then that result + bottom; see the “Karmic tail” page for details). The age scale around the outer circle and the arcana for each year are covered in the “Destiny matrix by year” section, and combinations of three energies on one line in the “Programs in the destiny matrix” section, along with the money channel and the relationship line. The calculator above does all of this automatically.

What the matrix points mean

  • Personal traits (left point, day of birth): how a person comes across and how others see them.
  • Comfort zone (center): the state in which a person feels good and from which they draw strength.
  • Talents (top line): abilities given from birth.
  • Material task and money channel (right side): how a person earns money and what gets in their way.
  • Relationships (the line from the center down and to the right): what kind of partner and relationship suits them.
  • Karmic task and karmic tail (bottom part): the lessons a person goes through in this life.
  • Purpose: personal (up to age 40), social (ages 40–60) and spiritual (after 60).

Each arcanum can show up “in the plus,” as a strength, and “in the minus,” when its energy hasn’t been worked through. The interpretations below describe both.

Destiny matrix FAQ

How can I calculate my destiny matrix for free?

Enter your date of birth in the calculator on this page: it will build the chart and interpret the key points. The calculation is free, requires no sign-up, and your date isn’t sent to a server.

What is the karmic tail in the destiny matrix?

It’s three numbers at the bottom of the matrix: the bottom point, the sum of the center and the bottom point, and the sum of those two numbers. The karmic tail describes the lessons and difficulties a person goes through: themes life brings them back to again and again until they’re worked through.

Where is money in the destiny matrix?

The money line runs from the center to the right point of the matrix. The calculator shows the money channel and the material task; they describe what makes it easier for a person to earn and what blocks money.

What does an arcanum “in the plus” and “in the minus” mean?

Every arcanum carries both strengths and shadows. “In the plus” is when a person uses the arcana’s energy consciously; “in the minus” is when it shows up through problems. For example, The Magician in the plus means initiative and a gift for communication, and in the minus, manipulation.

Why does the matrix use 22 numbers instead of 9, as in numerology?

The destiny matrix is based on the 22 Major Arcana of the tarot, so all numbers are reduced to the range from 1 to 22 rather than to single digits.

Can I calculate compatibility with the destiny matrix?

Yes. To do this, you build a couple’s matrix: the matching points of the two personal matrices are added together, and the whole chart is then calculated from them. You can do this in the “Destiny matrix compatibility” calculator.
