Near-future tarot spread

A four-card spread for the coming weeks — roughly a month ahead. It shows what energy surrounds you now, what will come into your life, what is worth paying attention to and where it will all lead.

Near-future spread layout

  1. What surrounds you now — The background and mood of the current period.
  2. What is coming — Events, people or changes in the coming weeks.
  3. What to pay attention to — Advice for this period.
  4. Where it will lead — The outcome of the period.

How to interpret the spread

The near-future spread works best without a narrow question — just think about the month ahead. The first card shows what you bring into this period. The second shows the main thing the coming weeks will bring. The third is advice: what will help you get through the period well. The fourth is the outcome.

If you want to look into the future of a specific area of life, keep it in mind before you lay out the cards: “the near future in my relationship”, “at work”. For relationships, there is a dedicated Relationship spread.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead does a near-future tarot spread look?

Usually 2–6 weeks. The longer the time frame, the less specific the cards are: tarot sees near-term trends better than events a year away.

Can I repeat the spread every week?

You can, but it’s better to do it every 2–4 weeks, once the period from the previous spread is over. That way you can see how the previous reading played out and what is changing.

Is this tarot reading free?

Yes, all spreads on the site are free, with no sign-up. Your question stays in your browser and isn’t sent anywhere.

Are reversed cards included?

Yes, by default a card can come up reversed — this makes the spread more accurate. If you’re used to reading with upright cards only, uncheck “Include reversed cards” before you lay out the spread.
