One-card reading
Yes or No Tarot online
Ask the cards a question that can be answered “yes” or “no,” and draw one card out of 78. You’ll get an answer, a short explanation and a link to the card’s full meaning. The reading is free, needs no sign-up, and your question isn’t sent anywhere.
How to ask your question
How accurate the answer is depends a lot on the question. A few rules that help:
- One question, one topic. “Should I change jobs?” is better than “Should I change jobs and move?”
- Ask about yourself and your own actions. “Should I message him first?” gives you more than “Does he love me?”: the card answers the person who is asking.
- Give the question a time frame. “Will I hear back from the employer this week?” is more precise than “Will I hear back?”
- Don’t repeat the question right away. If you didn’t like the answer, it’s better to think about why the card said what it did than to keep drawing until you get a “yes.”
- Don’t ask about health, life and death. Those questions are for doctors and specialists; tarot is a tool for reflection, not for diagnosis.

Likely yes
11 cards · A positive answer, but with a condition — something needs to be done or waited out.The answer isn’t clear yet
5 cards · The card says the decision depends on you or hasn’t ripened yet.Likely no
8 cards · Not the right time: circumstances aren’t on your side, but that can change. No
12 cards · A clear “no”, or a warning that the path leads the wrong way.How we interpret a yes-or-no answer
In this reading the card is read upright, which is what most tarot readers do when a short answer is needed. Each card’s answer is based on its core meaning: bright, active cards such as The Sun, The Star, The World and the Aces say “yes”; cards of loss and conflict such as The Tower, The Devil, the Ten and Nine of Swords and the Five of Pentacles say “no.”
In between there are shades. “Likely yes” is a positive answer with a condition: you need to be patient, reach an agreement or take the step yourself. “Likely no” and “Not yet” mean now isn’t the time, but the situation may change. “Unclear,” “Wait” and “It depends on you” signal that the decision hasn’t ripened yet or is in your hands: this is how, for example, The High Priestess, Justice and the Two of Swords answer.
A yes-or-no answer is only the top layer. To understand why the card answered the way it did and what to do next, open its full meaning: it covers love, work, money and the card’s advice.

Questions about yes or no tarot
How does a yes or no tarot reading work?
You ask your question silently and draw one card from the full 78-card deck. Each card has its own answer (“yes,” “no” or something in between) and a short explanation. The card is chosen at random, just as in a real-life reading.
How many times can I ask the same question?
It’s better to ask once. Doing repeated readings on the same question in a row usually just muddles things: people keep drawing cards until they get the answer they want. If the situation has changed, you can ask again in a few days.
Why did the card answer “Unclear”?
These cards say the answer hasn’t taken shape yet or depends on your decision. Try rephrasing the question: instead of “Will it work out?” ask “What should I do to make it work out?”, and read the card’s full meaning.
Are reversed cards taken into account?
Not in this reading: for a short answer, the card is read upright. Reversed meanings are covered in detail on each card’s page.
Is this reading free?
Yes, it’s completely free and requires no sign-up. Your question stays in your browser and isn’t sent anywhere.
Can I trust the cards’ answer?
Tarot is a tool for reflection, not a prediction that can’t be changed. The card’s answer helps you look at the situation from the outside and honestly ask yourself what you want. Make important decisions based on the facts and, if needed, the advice of specialists.
