Spread for a man

A four-card spread about a specific person: what he thinks of you, what he feels, what his intentions are and how you should act. It is most often done about a man, but the spread works for a question about anyone.

“What does he think of me” spread layout

  1. What he thinks of you — His thoughts and attitude on a rational level.
  2. What he feels — His feelings for you.
  3. His intentions — What he wants from the relationship.
  4. Advice for you — How you should act.

How to interpret the spread

Before the spread, picture the person as clearly as you can — his face, his voice, your last meeting. The first card shows what he thinks of you, the second what he feels. Sometimes thoughts and feelings don’t match: a person may be drawn to you but still have doubts, and that is an important answer too.

The third card shows his intentions: a serious relationship, casual interest or distance. The fourth is advice for you. Remember: the spread shows how the person feels about you, but it doesn’t give you the right to decide for him — use the answer to understand yourself and your next steps.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do this spread about a woman?

Yes. The positions work for anyone: think of the woman you’re asking about and read the answers as “she” instead of “he”.

Why do the thoughts and feelings cards contradict each other?

This happens often: a person may feel attraction but have doubts in their head — because of circumstances, past experience or insecurity. Look at the intentions card: it will show which side wins.

Is this tarot reading free?

Yes, all spreads on the site are free, with no sign-up. Your question stays in your browser and isn’t sent anywhere.

Are reversed cards included?

Yes, by default a card can come up reversed — this makes the spread more accurate. If you’re used to reading with upright cards only, uncheck “Include reversed cards” before you lay out the spread.
