Programs in the destiny matrix
A program is three energies on one line of the matrix, where the middle one equals the sum of the two outer ones: for example, 6-12-6 or 9-18-9. It describes a scenario that keeps repeating in life until the person becomes aware of it. Enter your date of birth and the calculator will find the programs in your matrix.

What a program is in the destiny matrix
Each number in the matrix is one of the 22 Major Arcana. When three energies stand on one line and the middle one is the sum of the two outer ones, they are read together: two energies “work” toward the third. This combination is called a program. It is written as three numbers in the order they appear on the line: 6-12-6, 7-7-18, 9-18-9 (if the sum is greater than 22, its digits are added together: 7 + 18 = 25 → 7).
A program is neither good nor bad in itself: in its positive expression it gives you a strength, in its negative expression a recurring problem. Programs on the karmic tail are considered karmic: they are what makes up the karmic tail.
Where to look for programs
The calculator checks 12 places where three energies stand on one line and the middle one is the sum of the outer two:
- Four rays from the outer points to the center: the personality line (day), the talent line (month), the material line (year) and the karmic line (bottom point). Each ray has two programs: outer point, second point, first point; and outer point, first point, center.
- The outer circle: the four sides of the ancestral square, where the sum of two neighboring main points stands between them (the father’s and mother’s lines).
Different schools use a wider or narrower set of lines, so other sites may show more programs. We only use the places where the rule “middle = sum of the outer two” holds by the way the matrix is built.
Example: 25.12.1989
Day 25 → 7, month 12, year 1 + 9 + 8 + 9 = 27 → 9, bottom point 28 → 10, center 38 → 11. The programs in this matrix:
| Where | Program | What adds up |
|---|---|---|
| personality line | 7-7-18 | 7 + 18 → 7 |
| personality line (toward the center) | 7-18-11 | 7 + 11 → 18 |
| talent line | 12-17-5 | 12 + 5 → 17 |
| talent line (toward the center) | 12-5-11 | 12 + 11 → 5 |
| material line | 9-11-20 | 9 + 20 → 11 |
| material line (toward the center) | 9-20-11 | 9 + 11 → 20 |
| karmic line | 10-4-21 | 10 + 21 → 4 |
| karmic line (toward the center) | 10-21-11 | 10 + 11 → 21 |
| ancestral square, father’s line | 7-19-12 | 7 + 12 → 19 |
| ancestral square, mother’s line | 12-21-9 | 12 + 9 → 21 |
| ancestral square, father’s line | 9-19-10 | 9 + 10 → 19 |
| ancestral square, mother’s line | 10-17-7 | 10 + 7 → 17 |

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the programs in my destiny matrix?
Enter your date of birth in the calculator above. It will build your matrix and show all your programs: three energies on one line, where the middle one equals the sum of the outer two.
What does program 6-12-6 mean?
Two Sixes (love, choice) add up to Twelve (service, self-sacrifice). It’s a scenario in which a person sacrifices themselves for love or a relationship; in its positive expression, it’s the ability to love selflessly without losing yourself.
How many programs can a destiny matrix have?
Across the 12 places we check, a person has between 2 and 12 different programs, and some of them repeat. Other schools take more lines into account, so they may find more programs.
What’s the difference between a program and a karmic tail?
A karmic tail is a special case of a program: three energies in the lower part of the matrix. Programs can appear on any line, and the ones called karmic are those that sit in the tail and on the material line.
